John Knoch has been training in Historical European Martial Arts since 2010 and competing since 2012. He is a co-founder of Crossroads Swords, established in 2021 in the Orlando area, and has been actively involved in strengthening the Florida HEMA community through regular training opportunities and the organization of regional events, including the Steel Jam series. John’s instructional focus centers on identifying effective opportunities for different techniques, helping students round out their tactical toolkit, and recreating competitive scenarios through innovative, pressure-tested drills. He emphasizes understanding decision-making, timing, and distance so students can confidently apply skills under realistic conditions. Ask him about sword umbrellas.
